Long® Fence recently completed an extensive security fencing project at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. The National Naval Medical Center is one of the nation’s largest and most renowned military medical centers, best known for its history of providing care to war heroes and presidents alike for the past 65 years. The security project consisted of approximately 4,700 linear feet of custom fabricated ornamental iron perimeter fencing with sections centered between masonry pylons. An additional 10,000 linear feet of vinyl coated chain link fence topped with three-strand barbed wire was also installed on the premises. Three remote controlled ornamental iron gates completed the project. Challenges included working in conjunction with neighboring facilities and communities, working within the guidelines set forth by the Navy security staff, maintaining a safe, secure work site and completing the job based on an aggressive schedule. All challenges were met to the satisfaction of the client.
