Long® Fence has recently completed an installation at the FedEx facility in Cumberland, Maryland. The job consisted of an overhead track slide gate, a turnstile and keypad pedestal. Overhead slide gates are most often used in situations where there is not enough room for full movement of a cantilever gate.
Long® Fence will be recognized by the Virginia Chapter of Associated Builders & Contractors as a Paragon Safety Award winner in the Specialty Trades category, greater than 500,000 man hours. The recognition event will take place June 12 at the Marriott at Fair Oaks in Fairfax, VA.
Long® Fence is improving perimeter security at regional airports from Maryland to Georgia with new installations of chain lnk fencing and gates. Recent projects include Rome and Louisville in Georgia; Myrtle Beach and Anderson in South Carolina; Dulles in Virginia and BWI-Marshall in Maryland.
Long® Fence recently completed installation of a wood soundwall fence for Handwerk Construction at the Norfolk Southern railway intermodal facility in Greencastle, PA, about 20 miles north of Hagerstown, MD. A soundwall, also called a noise barrier, sound berm or acoustical barrier is an exterior structure designed to protect sensitive land uses from noise pollution. Noise barriers are the most effective method of mitigating roadway, railway, and industrial noise sources.
The Virginia side of the Capital Beltway has been a hot bed of activity during construction of the HOT Lanes, now officially known as the 495 Express Lanes, from the Mixing Bowl to just north of the Dulles Toll Road. Long® Fence is a subcontractor to Fluor®-Lane, erecting 20 miles of highway guardrail and impact attenuators for this ongoing project. 495 Express Lane construction is expected to be complete by the end of 2012
