Long® Fence has recently completed an installation at the FedEx facility in Cumberland, Maryland. The job consisted of an overhead track slide gate, a turnstile and keypad pedestal. Overhead slide gates are most often used in situations where there is not enough room for full movement of a cantilever gate.
The new turnstile is a full-height turnstile, similar in operation to a revolving door. This type of turnstile is often used in mass transit situations because it eliminates the possibility of anyone jumping over the turnstile. In the United States it is sometimes called a "Rotogate". It is also known as an "iron maiden" after the torture device of the same name. It's easy to see why.
Long® Fence partnered with Tymetal and Mid-Atlantic Entry on this job.
