Though your area may only have a few businesses and contractors who install and repair gates and fences, there are actually thousands upon thousands of commercial and residential fence companies across the nation. In fact, there are actually about 99,939 businesses in the U.S. that offer fencing services and products. 

These Companies Create Hundreds of Thousands of Jobs.

These thousands of fencing companies naturally provide jobs at a time when people are in serious need of work. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the unemployment rate of the United States is 10.4% as of May 2015. The fencing industry is helping tackle this problem, as it employs about 270,455 people in the United States.

The Fencing Business Generates Billions

Not only is the U.S. fencing industry helping create jobs during a period of economic sluggishness, but it's also helping to bring billions upon billions of dollars into the economy. In fact, the U.S. fencing industry generates about $51 billion in revenue. That's more than 50 times the revenue generated by the NCAA in 2013. 

Who would have thought that the U.S. fencing industry was such an economic pillar? Not only are there thousands of fencing companies out there, these businesses provide hundreds of thousands of jobs during a period of economic trouble, and provide billions of dollars in revenue. Essentially, fencing companies not only help protect consumers' properties, but also help protect the national economy from even more serious trouble.
