Komen Maryland Race for the Cure Fencing
Long® Fence is Gold Sponsor of Komen Maryland Race for the Cure®
Hunt Valley, MD – October 26, 2011 – Long® Fence, one of the largest residential and commercial fencing contractors on the East Coast, was a gold level sponsor of the 19th annual Komen Maryland Race for the Cure® for their donation of temporary fencing to protect and separate pedestrian spectators and participants during the event on October 23, 2011 in Hunt Valley, Maryland.
Long® Fence barricades were used to guide race participants to registration booths, close off streets, safely control crowds and define areas of special interest. A record-breaking 32,000 runners and walkers participated and over $2.4 million was raised for the fight against breast cancer. Long® Fence is proud to have sponsored Maryland’s largest foot race and largest non-profit fundraising event.
Temporary Barricade Fencing Provides Pedestrian Safety
Long® Fence barricades can be used for public events, grand openings, festivals, concerts, parades, organized demonstrations or any other type of outdoor assembly where a controlled environment is paramount for pedestrian safety. Long® Fence rental service includes delivery, set-up and removal of these freestanding, galvanized steel panels.
“Pedestrian barricades are a fairly new product for us and we’re glad we could help out with the Komen Race.” said Mike Ritter, Jr., vice president and manager of the Long® Fence office in Odenton, Maryland. “With a crowd of over 30,000 participants and spectators, pedestrian safety and control is paramount and we are proud we could contribute to this worthy cause.”
