Decks
If you are looking to take advantage of any sunny day you possibly can but do not have a place to do so, then a deck is the right choice for you. Decks are an extension of your home and can be made out a variety of materials. Decks are great ways to enjoy the outdoors, entertain and fire a quiet moment to relax. A deck means having a social space, a focal point for the backyard where you can spend your relaxation time. A deck is a great space for any accessories you may want in your yard, like outdoor tables and chairs, plants, lanterns, and more.
Porches
Do you want a place to welcome guests in your home or enjoy your backyard while having coverage and protection? Then a porch may be the best option for you. Porches are very similar to decks except that they normally have a full or partial roof. While porches, of course, require more construction, the benefit is worth the investment. Porches are a great way to enjoy the outdoors while it is raining or get some shade cover. Porches are also ideal if you want to install a screen. If you have a porch with a screen, you can enjoy being outside while having protection from bugs or bad weather. Porches also make a great entryway to your home. Greet your guests outside before they come in or put chairs on your front porch to watch the world go by.
Types of Decks and Porches
If you choose to install a deck, we design and install many different construction styles.
The first option is a raised platform deck, which is a deck that is a foot or two off the ground with three or four steps leading up to it. This deck makes for a great entryway into your home or a centerpiece for your backyard. If you are not looking for a deck with a lot of height, this is a great option for you.
The second option is a two-story deck. If you have a house that is multiple stories, this is a great option for you since you can have access to the outdoors from every floor. With the addition of stairs to your deck, you will have easier access to your yard and to the outside in case of an emergency. They are also very fashionable and trendy for larger houses.
The third option for a wood deck is to install a multi-level deck. This can come in a variety of forms. You may want to construct it more like a two-story deck, or you can have it cover one story but have different sections of the deck at different heights. Multi-Level decks are a great way to get creative. We will work you to design a deck that meets all of your needs and that is unique to your property.
Optional Features for Decks and Porches
Optional features for your outdoor space and decks and porches include seating, garden boxes, trellis, and pergolas. One reason that many people install porches and decks is so that they have a comfortable place to sit outdoors. We supply a variety of seating options like outdoor tables, chairs, and loveseats. Garden boxes are a great way to add a contained garden to your yard without digging into the earth. Garden boxes make gardening easy and less high-maintenance. Trellis, which are stylish and small wooden, patterned walls are a great way to add decorations and privacy to the outdoor areas of your property. Pergolas are a fun, low-maintenance way to add coverage without building a complete roof.
Why You Should Install a Deck or Porch with Long® Fence
When you choose to install a deck or porch with Long® Fence, you will first meet with one of our experienced deck and porch designers who will provide suggestions based on your ideas and budget. After you decide to purchase a deck or porch, our design and drafting department may prepare plans and a blueprint for you to review and approve. We want to ensure that your design is exactly what you envisioned for your property. Prior to installation, we will submit a request for a building permit. While homeowner associations are the responsibility of the homeowner, your representative will assist, if necessary, in providing product information that may be required. An experienced crew will schedule all necessary inspections and perform the installation. Enjoy your deck knowing that it is fully warranted for a full year against defects in materials and workmanship. Our multi-step process is designed so that you can get your dream porch and deck with the least amount of effort on your part. We want you to be able to sit back and relax while we do the hard work of building your dream outdoor space.
Composite & Vinyl Decks
An alternative to wood decks are those using composite and vinyl flooring. Composite and vinyl deck boards have a wood grain look and feel and add a smooth and modern appearance to your deck or porch. Vinyl decks are made from polyvinyl chloride, and composite decks are made from both wood and recycled plastic and tend to look more natural than vinyl decks. All of our composite and vinyl decks and railing systems are non-splintering and environmentally friendly. They are low-maintenance and are less vulnerable to environmental conditions than wooden decks.
Composite DecksWood decks
Classic wood decks are a very popular choice for our customers due to their natural look.
Our main wood deck product uses pressure-treated wood. Pressure-treated wood stands up to wear-and-tear. And you’ll need a product that can stand up to wear-and-tear; decks are exposed to the elements and need to accommodate daily use.
Pressure-treated wood also resists insects and rotting. This lumber defends better against termites and other wood-boring insects. And if you have accidental breakage, this type of wood is easy to repair or replace.
Wood DecksGazebos
A gazebo is a unique and romantic option for an outdoor space. It is a perfect space for having some alone time to read a book, have guests over, or host events in. There are a variety of options for gazebos, including wood gazebos and vinyl and composite gazebos. Some other options and features for gazebos include tongue and groove decking, a variety of roof styles, built-in benches, and ceiling fans.
GazebosScreened porches
Building a composite, vinyl, or wooden porch with screens is a great option if you want protection against aspects of the outdoors like insects or poor weather. Screened porches are a great option for guests or dining outside. Screened porches also extend your home with a room that has access to fresh air without the annoyance of too much sun. Some options for screened porches include removable screens and tongue and groove decking.
Screened PorchesSunrooms
Long® Fence sunrooms are built with a durable, vinyl finish on the interior and exterior, without the unsightly screws that often comes with sunrooms if you use another construction company. We can even build sunrooms on existing structures. The options for your sunroom are endless, and we can build it so that it looks like an extension of your home. The windows that come with our sunrooms are high-performance windows that we would use as if we were building the rest of your home as well. The windows are also combined with interlocking sashes and tempered glass to ensure safety and security. Low E and Argon gas make the windows more energy efficient and reduce the amount of UV rays that can come into your home.
